Toronto Zoo, one of Canada’s top wildlife destinations, wanted a sustainable after‑dark attraction to drive visitor traffic from autumn through the holiday season. Our team delivered the full custom Zigong lantern project, Glow in the Wild, running from September until early January, covering Halloween, Christmas and winter holiday peak periods.

The 1.5 km walking trail is divided into three themed zones: tropical rainforest, deep ocean and wetland habitat, fully aligned with the zoo’s conservation and education mission.
The tropical zone features a giant floral arch with curtain fairy lights, paired with jungle animal lanterns. The underwater section includes ocean arch, dolphin, tropical fish, starfish, coral and jellyfish light sculptures. The wetland area showcases herons, reeds and native wetland wildlife lights.

All lanterns are handcrafted in Zigong. Built with steel frames, weatherproof fabric and low‑voltage waterproof LED lights, they stand up to cool, rainy Ontario autumn and winter outdoor conditions. Modular design enables sea freight shipping, easy on‑site assembly, storage and reconfiguration for future events, helping clients maximise their return on investment.
The lantern show quickly became a viral hit across the Greater Toronto Area. It draws family visitors, photographers and group bookings, with massive organic social sharing. Beyond decoration, the light trail tells wildlife conservation stories, perfectly matching the zoo’s educational identity and setting it apart from generic light shows.

This project proves that Zigong lantern art can be fully localised for western venues. We design wildlife‑focused light experiences tailored to local ecology and brand goals, not only traditional Chinese motifs.
We provide end‑to‑end custom lantern solutions for zoos, botanical gardens, parks and festival producers, including theme planning, lantern fabrication, export packing and installation guidance.
