2026 Wuxi Plum Garden Autumn Lantern Festival

Project Theme: Mystical Realms of Mountains & Seas, Night Unfolds at Plum Garden
Client: Wuxi Plum Garden Scenic Area
Service: Full turnkey lantern design, production, installation & after-sales support

Project Overview
Nestled in the water town of Jiangnan, Wuxi Plum Garden is a classic century-old garden famous for plum blossoms. The scenic spot wanted a high-impact night tourism project to boost off-season visitor volume, combining local Jiangnan garden aesthetics with traditional Chinese heritage culture.
Our team delivered the full set of lantern installations for the 2026 Autumn Lantern Festival, centred around Classic of Mountains and Seas. Over 20 large-scale lantern groups were built to transform the quiet garden into a magical mythical wonderland for night visitors.

Our Design & Production Highlights
All lantern artworks are handmade by experienced Zigong lantern craftsmen. We chose classic mythical creatures from Shan Hai Jing — roc, Bai Ze, nine-tailed fox and exotic fairy plants.

Different from mass-produced lanterns, we applied hand painting and gradient colour craft. With waterproof LED lighting and solid steel frameworks, these sculptures can withstand long-time outdoor display. Every lantern was tailored to fit the garden layout, matching pavilions, streams and trees naturally without ruining the original landscape.

On-site Experience & Supporting Arrangement
To create an immersive night tour, we worked together with the client to match the lantern display with supporting activities: lantern puppet parades, heritage acrobatics, light firework shows and live music nights. The combination of static light sculptures and live performances greatly extended guest dwell time and improved overall visitor experience.

Project Outcome
The lantern show quickly became a viral local highlight. It drew large crowds during the exhibition period and gained wide media coverage. This project proves that Zigong custom lanterns are a reliable, high-return solution for scenic spots looking to build signature night attractions.
