Huqiu Lantern Festival: Lotus and Koi Lanterns Lighting Up the Jiangnan Nightscape

By the waterside of Suzhou’s Huqiu Garden, a stunning lotus and koi lantern installation breathes life into the night of this thousand-year-old scenic spot. This custom-designed piece for the garden’s water feature was crafted entirely by our team, from concept and production to on-site installation.

Drawing inspiration from the poetic charm of “moonlight over the lotus pond,” our design blends seamlessly with Huqiu’s classical Jiangnan aesthetic. Graceful lotus lanterns bloom in soft pink and white hues, while vivid koi lanterns seem to glide through the water, their scales shimmering with warm LED light, perfectly capturing the essence of the water town.

Rooted in Zigong’s intangible cultural heritage lantern-making techniques, we use waterproof steel frames, high-transparency fabrics, and durable LED systems to ensure long-lasting performance in outdoor conditions. During installation, we carefully integrated the lanterns with the garden’s pavilions, stone bridges, and water, creating a harmonious blend of light and landscape.

As night falls, the lanterns reflect on the water, turning Huqiu’s historic night into a living, glowing painting of Jiangnan romance for visitors to enjoy.
