The Moon Reflected on Nanhu · Autumn Garden Lantern Festival is a successful night‑economy upgrade project located at Nanhu Ecological Park in Zigong, globally known as the City of Lanterns. Running from September 21 to November 18, this seasonal light event adopts a free‑to‑enter operation model, proving that custom lantern installations can drive massive visitor flow without relying solely on ticket revenue.

Following a 2.5‑km lakeside visitor route, the festival features handcrafted Zigong lanterns across lawns, woodlands and lake surfaces. The centrepiece waterscape installation spans 15,000 sq.m, themed around moon legends with giant lanterns of Chang’e, jade rabbits and cosmic galaxy scenes. Fog machines are integrated to enhance the magical reflection effect over water.

Beyond static lantern sculptures, the project blends multi‑media entertainment. A combined drone and water‑screen light show delivers dynamic performances, creating layered visual experiences to extend dwell time. The site is planned with dedicated photo zones, pop‑up retail areas and family‑friendly spots, forming a complete commercial night‑time destination.
